周四早读

1. With the purpose of celebrating Senior 3 students’ stepping into adulthood, our school is going to hold a Coming-of-age Ceremony. The event is scheduled to take place on the playground at 9:00 am this Friday. To begin with, the headmaster as well as the student representatives will deliver a speech. After that, we will make a vow collectively to become responsible citizens. Ultimately, each student will release a balloon, carrying with it their dreams. Please keep in mind that we should wear our school uniform and arrive on time. Besides, don’t litter casually. 2. How is everything going? I’ m writing to share with you an exciting experience I had Last Friday. On that morning, my classmates and I participated in a textbook drama competition held by our school. We acted out a scene from O.Henry’s The Last Leaf, in which I played the role of Behrman, a failed painter. It was the first time that we had put on a performance on the stage. Nervous yet thrilled, we made it a success and the audience burst into cheers. It was really a challenging but rewarding experience. Not only did it enhance my confidence but it also developed my team spirit. 3. More than delighted to learn that you have achieved a gold medal in the Paris Olympic Games, I am writing to extend my sincere congratulations to you. As your fan, you can’ t imagine how thrilled I felt when I heard the news that you won the game. Your outstanding performance in Paris has left a deep impression on all of us. It was your remarkable skills and ability to remain calm that set you apart from your competitors. The gold medal is a recognition of your dedication and passion for the sport. As I intend to participate in a competitive event, I would appreciate any advice you offer. Once again, congratulations and best wishes for continued success. Looking forward to your early reply.
