How is everything going? I participated in a textbook drama competition held by our school last Sunday and was awarded the first prize. I’m writing to share that exciting experience with you.
I and my classmates acted out a scene from William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. I played Romeo, which was my favorite role. Before the competition, we spent several weeks preparing for the competition, practicing lines and gestures. On the day of the competition, we were nervous and stressed. However, with the support of my classmates, we overcame the nervousness and gave a perfect performance, thus receiving thunderous applause from the audience.
It was a meaningful and rewarding experience. Not only did it improve
my spoken English but also strengthen my confidence to perform in public.
